Kate Digby is a choreographer, teacher and dancer based in New York City. In 2000, she founded Digby Dance and has choreographed over 30 works for the company. These works have been performed throughout the United States and abroad in venues including the Kennedy Center, Zero Arrow Theater and the 92nd St. Y. Digby’s choreography has been supported by grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Boston Cultural Council, the LEF Foundation, Puffin Foundation, Putnam Foundation and the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts. She was a two-time choreography fellow at Summer Stages Dance, was awarded a Company Residency at The Yard, and was a finalist in the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s 2004 Choreography Awards. Digby has served on the faculties of the Boston Conservatory, the Longy School of Music, Roxbury Community College, New York University’s Athletic Department, and the Walnut Hill School for the Performing Arts, and has held residencies at Dartmouth College, Emmanuel College and the Dana Hall School. She has been honored to perform with David Parker and The Bang Group, Prometheus Dance, the Boston Dance Collective and numerous independent choreographers. Digby holds an MFA in Dance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a BFA from the Boston Conservatory.
